Glass walls for a bright and open office building

Powder coating specialist MFI Coatings from Paal needed a new office building. The former building was outdated and lacked appeal for both employees and customers. The company opted for a completely new construction, paying close attention to the interior design. Steel-look partition walls divide the office space without detracting from the openness and ample light inside. Divina turned out to be the ideal solution for this project.

The new office of MFI Coatings had to be a contemporary building with strong appeal. Interior designer Jo Lamberts created a design. This was an immediate success, recalls CEO Erik Van Hool. “We actually had no comments about the concept. The steel-look carpentry inside also immediately charmed us. It definitely matched the sleek and open interior style we had in mind.”

The invisible screws and hinges contribute to the overall aesthetics. 

With that design, Van Hool approached some organisations including Glaswerken Van Regenmortel. This experienced installer presented a few possible solutions for the glass partition walls and doors. Ultimately, the choice was divina from ARLU. "This system best suited the client's wishes because the door opens only in one direction and has a stop. So, unlike a pivot door, there are no gaps around the door. Another advantage is that no screws or hinges are visible after installation. This contributes to the overall aesthetics," explains co-manager Julie Van Regenmortel. "At the same time, the divina system ensures that the wall maintains seamless beauty even with the door open."

Custom configuration

Van Regenmortel designed a total of five divina walls for the new office building. With its modular nature and precision customisation, divina provides virtually limitless possibilities. For example, a configuration of 2,800 mm high was required on the first floor, while walls with a height of 2,600 mm were adequate for the ground floor. The glass swing doors were supplemented with glass walls of different lengths and divisions to give the partition wall a modern and elegant finish.

Anyone who has a commercial building constructed usually aims for a short lead time. MFI Coatings is no exception. Smooth execution of both the structural work and the interior finishing is crucial to meet these often tight deadlines. The installation of the divina walls was successful. "We have previously installed doors and walls in divina from ARLU," explains Julie Van Regenmortel. "To guarantee a pleasant working environment, acoustic foam with a thickness of 35 mm was applied to the ceiling. Fortunately this did not interfere with the installation of the walls."

inspiration for visitors 

In October 2023, MFI Coatings moved into the new building. "We've now received plenty of positive feedback on our office design, often regarding the divina walls specifically," says Erik Van Hool. "They ask what product it is and who installed it. So we're inspiring not only our own team but also external parties. I can recommend it to everyone."
